This morning, as I was waiting for the Sunday service to begin, I began to think of the four Jews who were killed in the Kosher departmental store in France; and what Israeli PM Netanyahu said : “To all the Jews of France, all the Jews of Europe, I would like to say that Israel is not just the place in whose direction you pray, the state of Israel is your home,” referring to the Jewish practice of facing Jerusalem during prayer.
And I prayed Ps 122:6 for the peace of Jerusalem. And tears welled up as I thought of Jesus The Prince of Peace, and prayed for His return.
Yes, surely the Lord will not neglect His people. He has raised Ruth, the Gentile bride,
“And she said, “These six measures of barley he gave to me, for he said, ‘Do not go to your mother-in-law empty-handed’”
The Lord will continue to work, as in the pattern and typology of Ruth. It shall be a Ruth-full church.
Daughters of Ruth had the honor to be at the Southern Steps of the Old City to proclaim God’s promise for Jerusalem, and some Israelites have commented – not since Peter preached at the same spot has so many gathered to proclaim the Messiah’s return. Each time I played back the video, my heart reaches out to Jesus, Jerusalem and the Jews.
UThis song, composed in 2003 was first sung in the New Creation Church – (do turn on the subtitles for the lyrics)
